Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatulahi wa barakatuhu.

By (the Token of) Time (through the ages), Verily Man is in loss, Except such as have Faith, and do righteous deeds, and (join together) in the mutual teaching of Truth, and of Patience and Constancy.

Polices and Procedures

Hidaya Institute for Quranic Sciences is committed to providing the highest quality education programs geared towards memorizing, understanding and acting in accordance with the holly Quran. We reach out to all parents to work with their children to take the program seriously, to be punctual in attendance and in completion of all assignments, to wear proper clothing at all times, and to have proper manners in dealing with others and the property of Hidaya.

Arrival for Class

All students are required to arrive 5 to 10 minutes before class start time. Parents are to bring their children (ages 4 to 18) to the Hidaya Administrator (immediately inside the front door) and the Hidaya Administrator will record their attendance and take them to their assigned class. Once the student has been taken to the Hidaya Administrator, parents should leave and return at the end of the class period to pick-up their children.

All parents are required to arrive 5 minutes before class end time to pick-up their children (ages 4 to 18). Parents are to pick-up their children from the Receptionist area (just inside the front door) immediately after their class. Parents who do not pick-up their children within 5 minutes of the end of the class will be charged for one hour of Late Pick-up (see below).

Late Arrival

Students who arrive later than the start of the class disrupt the class operation. We ask all parents to help us to avoid this and maintain proper operation of all classes. Students arriving later than the start of class will be marked Tardy.

Early Release

During class hours, students will not be discharged to their parents prior to the class end time unless accompanied by a discharge-note provided to the teacher by the Hidaya Administrator. The discharge-note (supplied by the Administrator) must be signed by the parent. Any parent who goes directly to the classroom will be sent back to the Hidaya Administrator to get the discharge-note.

Classroom Operations

To maintain orderly classroom operations, the following must be adhered to:
  1. All students must dress in a manner appropriate for attending the Institute
  2. All students must complete individual and class objectives on time.
  3. All students must bring all required classroom supplies including completed assignments, paper/notebook, pen/pencil, and required books to the class
  4. Students should not bring any food, drink, or gum with them to the Institute. These items will not be allowed in the class
  5. All students must remain on the Hidaya property after the classroom time until picked up by an adult
  6. All students must obey classroom procedures as instructed by the teacher
  7. All students must respect the rights of others by not being loud or disruptive to others
  8. All students must Respect Hidaya property and the property of others
  9. All students must leave any distracting items at home
  10. Under no circumstances are the parents to sit in on their children’s classes without the teacher’s permission

Bathroom Use

Parents should encourage students to use the bathroom facilities prior to the start of the class. Bathroom usage during the class should be discouraged. Students that must use the bathroom during the class time should seek the permission of the teacher.

Class Room Cleanup

At the end of each class and with direction from the teacher, students are required to ensure that:
  • Tables and Chairs have been put back to their original positions
  • Trash has been placed in the trash cans
  • Whiteboards are clean
  • All personal belongings have been taken
  • Any material that has been removed from the book shelves has been returned to its proper place

Student Placement

From time to time, Hidaya may re-evaluate a student and may find it appropriate to move the student to a different class. For example, in cases where a student is advancing faster than their peers within the class, Hidaya may decide to move this student to a more advanced class. Such moves will always be coordinated with the parent prior to the move.

Parents are required to park in the available parking slots anywhere around the building complex of the Institute. Parking rules and regulations are to be observed at all times. Violators will be dealt with in accordance with the building complex regulations.

Early Drop-off and Late Pick-up

Hidaya Institute will provide Early Drop-off and late Pick-up services during its initial hours of operation from 4:30 PM to 8:30 PM on Mondays and Wednesdays. Parents may drop off their children (ages 4 to 18) early or pick them up late by using this service. Appropriate toys and games may be provided for use by the children during these hours. The charge for this service will be $5 per child per hour (or any part thereof greater than 5 minutes).

Inclement Weather

In the case of inclement weather, most local radio/television stations broadcast school information during questionable weather. Please follow the following procedure:
  • Tune to the local stations for the most up-to-date information regarding delayed openings and/or early closings for Montgomery County Schools.
  • On days of inclement weather, the classrooms will be closed whenever the Montgomery County schools are closed.
  • If the county schools delay the starting time and open late, the Hidaya Institute will be open for normal evening classroom schedules. Morning classes, if any, will be cancelled.
  • If the county schools close early then the Hidaya Institute will be closed for that day and no classes will be held

Lost and Found

All articles found in the Hidaya Institute should be turned in to the Administrator (at the Reception area). For lost items, students should check with the Administrator or teacher if they have misplaced an item. If an item is not claimed by the owner, it will be donated to charity at the end of the school year.
